Curing Carcinophobia With Hypnotism

The fear of cancer, carcinophobia, is one of the top ten most widespread phobias, and it isn’t hard to see why. Nobody wants to develop cancer or see a loved one suffering from the disease. Although it is normal to dread getting sick, people with carcinophobia experience an extreme amount of fear that sometimes takes over their lives. Overcoming the fear of cancer used to take months or even years, but with better knowledge of the condition and treatment techniques, this is no longer the case. Proven hypnosis techniques can help sufferers reclaim their well-being and happiness.

It’s not difficult to see what can lead to a fear of cancer. This phobia is linked to a fear of death, illness, and loss of control. Very often, sufferers feel disturbed by a family member’s struggle with disease. People who have lost a friend or family member to cancer, or are at risk of developing the disease, live in fear of the moment when they develop cancer.

The anxiety brought on by the fear of cancer can lead people to make rash decisions. Some people frequently go to doctors to confirm they are not sick, while others avoid doctor visits altogether, in fear of being diagnosed with an illness. People with the phobia will become worried if they experience the smallest symptoms of poor health, such as a migraine, and worry that it is cancer. They will often do whatever it takes to avoid becoming sick.

People suffering from carcinophobia often believe they have much to fear. Carcinophobia a chronic fear that can affect both genders. An individual might think, “Who will provide for my family if I have cancer?” or dwell on other important concerns. The phobia of cancer may take a big toll on sufferers and their loved ones.

Many people can cope with their phobias by simply avoiding the object of their worry. Arachnophobes can often cope by staying away from spiders, and claustrophobia sufferers are careful to avoid small, enclosed areas such as crowded rooms. Cancer phobia, however, is not the same. Carcinophobia is triggered by a person’s deepest thoughts and worries. It can be crippling for someone to experience a fear they simply cannot escape. This keeps many people with the phobia in a chronic state of panic.

A number of phobia treatments are available today. Common ones involve counseling and medication. Talk therapy can produce lasting results, but it may take a long time, up to several months for some. Prescription medication works to lessen a person’s nervousness, but it neglects to treat the underlying causes of a phobia. Hypnosis is another choice that produces lasting results in less time than other treatments. Hypnosis has become a leading choice because it is an effective, safe, and non-invasive treatment.

Hypnosis therapy combines anxiety-relief techniques with fear relief to quickly cure a phobia. A good program will start with relaxation therapy to help alleviate the emotional stress caused by fear. Once a person feels calm and at ease, hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques can guide the unconscious mind into adopting a phobia-free line of thought.

Traditional hypnotherapy uses direct, post-hypnotic commands to cure a phobia. This method is highly effective when an individual is responsive to it. Unfortunately, these traditional techniques often prove ineffective because most people are inclined to question what they are told and reject direct commands.

A severe phobia such as carcinophobia calls for a more advanced form of treatment such as Ericksonian hypnosis. This form of hypnotherapy works well for those who are logical, and who are experiencing chronic fear and anxiety. It uses indirect suggestions embedded in conversations, stories, and metaphors to help them fight their anxieties.

The innovative NLP technology does not rely on suggestion at all, so it can be effective for everybody. A simplified explanation is that NLP provides strategies to train the unconscious mind to use the same thought processes that are creating a symptom or problem, to extinguish it.

Since hypnosis and NLP work at the unconscious level of the mind, clients report feeling much more empowered and comfortable using these types of therapy.

With Traditional Hypnosis, programs generally must be phobia specific. One additional benefit of a properly designed Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP program is that they are designed to be used on any phobia, or even a number of phobias. This is an ideal asset to some cancer phobia sufferers who also have other panic disorders, such as general hypochondria or germophobia.

Carcinophobia is a serious condition, but one that can be eliminated by appropriate hypnosis techniques. NLP techniques have become a leading phobia remedy because of their ability to address the underlying cause of all fears and not just the signs and symptoms. Novel Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP techniques can help even the most serious phobia sufferers overcome their anxieties once and for all.
