Debt doesn’t have to rule your life

Becoming debt-free can certainly be challenging, let alone lowering your debt in this (or any) economy. The great thing is that you can set yourself up with a plan that will gradually alleviate much of, and even all of your payments to creditors. The biggest key is to get very clear on where you want to be in the future - Create a vision for yourself, so that you’ve got things to look forward to.

Whether it’s a long-awaited vacation, a updated car not a fan of new cars due to depreciation., or a bank account that actually has some zero’s behind it , making smart financial decisions can be an incredibly rewarding project. It’s easy today to live well beyond your means - These are a few of the dollar diminishing ventures people get into that can be debilitating. They can result in job loss, divorce, and personal health matters.

How about the credit cards, and how easily many of us get sucked in to the convenience of instant gratification through funds that aren’t even ours to begin with (They can be of use for booking hotels, rental cars, etc., but misuse is rampant these days)?

Once people get very clear and honest with their present situation, the doors start to unlock, and hope becomes visible. For instance: Do I really need that extra vehicle? Can I down-size my property and put some equity towards getting back into the black again? Can I actually buy lightly used furniture and save hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars as a result?

These are a few examples and thoughts that can change your life potentially, and put you on the road of becoming financially independent. It all starts with self-honesty and the desire for a better financial future. The best part is that it’s all in your hands.
