How to Plan Unforgettable Weddings Abroad

Weddings abroad are the perfect way to combine the most special day of your life with the ultimate honeymoon.

Do you want your wedding to be a small, intimate event attended just by you, your intended, and the vicar’s wife as a witness? Or, do you want a destination event for all your family and friends? Either way, you can make it a wonderful event that will be a memory to cherish forever.

The most important decision to be made when planning your distant wedding ceremony is the location. Fortunately, there are hundreds of places for you to choose from!

Why not try a beautiful tropical wedding in Barbados, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, or St. Lucia? Maybe you would rather bask in the Mediterranean glory of France, Greece, Spain, or Italy.

If you and your fiance share a common ancestry, it would be incredibly romantic to stage your wedding in the land of your forefathers, complete with traditional dress and perhaps even a reception filled with native foods and dancing.

You can be sure that weddings abroad will be equally wonderful in places such as Australia or New Zealand, South America (Brazil, another good choice for the beach wedding), Eastern Europe (Croatia or the Czech Republic), or Africa (South Africa safari).

Once you settle on where you want to have your wedding, it’s time to decide how simple or elaborate you want it to be. Fortunately, destination weddings are the forte of many a wedding planner. There are also companies that are all about helping people plan weddings in places listed above. They can help you in so many ways. They can find the right vendors for food, flowers, music, and more. Of course, you must also be aware of the need for passports, visas, and vaccines for both of you and your guests.

If you are inviting family and/or friends to your wedding abroad, be sure to plan a way to escape afterward for your private honeymoon!
